In Core Keeper, your avatar is dropped into a mysterious dark cavern. You find yourself in a room with a powered-down core, connected to three statues that seem to require gemstones to run. What now? Glurch the Abominous Mass Glurch is, indeed, a large mass of slime. This boss can be found by digging down and to the left from the core. When you start seeing orange oozes and slime, you’re on the right track.
Wood Pickaxe helps mine the soft dirt biome walls more quickly. All walls can be slowly broken by punching continuously (except obsidian).
I recommend taking the "Miner" Background so you start with a Copper Pickaxe — you'll have to do a lot of digging at the beginning!
Minimap: This shows you the map of the area immediately around you. Icons for bosses that you have located will also show up on this map, giving you an idea of which direction you need to go in order to reach them.
Which isn't to say there aren't genuinely spooky areas and scary moments. There are ominous, off-screen sounds when you get close to one of Core Keeper's bosses. Breaking through a wall and suddenly seeing you're at the edge of a massive chasm is alarming, and building a narrow bridge across it doesn't feel comfy at all (even though you can't actually fall in).

There are two different settings at character creation that determine what happens to your player character at death. You can choose one where you’ll lose the character if they die and have to create a new one. Or, you can opt to have the same character respawn.
